「New Year, New Host」

Happy New Years! As mentioned in a (now deleted) blogpost, I moved hosting platforms from Nekoweb to Cloudflare Pages. This was a suggestion from my close friend, actually―I weighed the pros and cons of different options and decided that both Nekoweb and Neocities are too statistic-oriented for me to feel comfortable using either. While follows are a good feature in theory, highlighting them on the "Explore" page incentivizes social media-like practices which defeats the point of an indie website. It also made me uncomfortable, knowing how many eyes were on me and the expectations people held.
This iteration is titled [V3] as it's the third iteration of this site. The first two could be considered "animecore" (which means little as the label is broad) but I had unconsciously leaned into that aesthetic after having seen other indie websites follow that trend...and I don't align or associate with it at all. What we have going on now is much more "me", and it's also much easier to manage. Actually, this is the second remake...I had something way more complex before scrapping everything last minute and going with this instead. If you notice anything that's broken, please let me know!
I have a few pages, articles, and reviews on the backburner so there'll be a gradual stream of "content" posted, but overall updates will remain sporadic. Also, keep in mind that the indie web is supposed to be slow...I'm also going to make an effort to stop apologizing for busyness, lack of updates, etc.
If you peek at the date to the top-left of this article, that's when I started writing it. That'll be the case for articles going forward, as opposed to when it's publicly listed. Additionally keep in mind that while I refer to certain, more serious articles as "reviews", they're still informal and should be treated as long-wided rambles instead of well-researched, well-worded...reviews.
Finally, I sustained a major wrist injury in late December of 2025. This has greatly affected my life in numerous ways but is notable here as coding & typing are slower than usual. I can no longer dick around on my computer for hours on end, let alone marathon games without rest, so understanding is greatly appreciated. It's cruel that my lacking in time to game issue has been exacerbated not only by work-related issues but this newfound hand problem, too. Welp.
I will see you again hopefully soon & have a wonderful rest of now-Apri!
